How much does it cost?

Brightegg PL is priced on many attributes, like size of your company, users, features and the like. There is a sign up fee that covers setting up your private label, training, marketing materials and support. There is also a monthly fee as well as a small charge for each design conversion.

Are there any hidden fees?

Absolutely not. As mentioned above, there is a sign up fee, a monthly fee and a charge for each website design conversion that involves coding design and placing it on the Brightegg platform to work seamlessly with the CMS. This is generally a $495 one-time charge, depending on the complexity of the design. Most of our clients make sure they cover this cost when they bill their clients for the design of the website.

How is my company billed?

After paying the initial sign-up fee, you are billed on a quarterly basis in the form of an invoice.

How do I make money using Brightegg PL?

You charge whatever you like for the design portion and keep 100% of it as your own. This is part of your current business model and will not change. The other, new revenue stream, comes from selling your own content management system, complete with hosting and email. We charge you discounted pricing and you charge your clients what you feel is reasonable and make money every month! Once you have your account, you can add any number of websites and charge your clients your own pricing. The only thing you're required to do is pay the minimum price on each package sold. The rest is yours to keep.

How do you handle domains?

Domains are handled on two levels: pre-launch and post launch. Pre-launch is a domain with your client's name followed by your company name (i.e., client.yourcompany.com). This is a temporary domain and only used for the initial build of a website. Once the site is complete, it's launched with your client's actual domain or URL.

Do you also host the websites for Brightegg PL members?

Yes. Your clients' websites are hosted on our servers at our premier data center just outside of Hartford, Connecticut. In the case of an energy outage, our battery backup system ensures everything runs in the short term, while redundant diesel generators provide long-term power. Redundant HVAC units ensure that the systems maintain necessary temperatures and all websites are backed up every night to make sure your data is safe and secure.

Can I run Brightegg PL on my own servers?

Sorry, but no. Brightegg PL is a web-based, hosted application. Therefore, it must sit on our servers.

Do you provide email accounts as part of the service?

Yes. Brightegg manages and maintains your entire email infrastructure in our carrier-grade Rackspace data centers. Our hosted email solutions free-up you and your clients' internal IT resources, allowing them to focus more on their core business strategies. We strive to alleviate your email system burdens, with reliable email and webmail services at a fraction of in-house costs. Can I transfer a client's current website?

Sure. However, there will be a design conversion charge to take your client's existing website and fit it onto the Brightegg platform. Once the general design and templates are up, you or your client will have to move the content over by copying and pasting. Sorry, that's still an old-school issue that all CMS systems face.

Some of my clients have special, custom needs. Do you support this?

We are very flexible and can work with you to build custom features, components and designs. That's one of the main reasons design firms sign up to use us. While we can't give a definitive yes to everything, we are very confident that we can provide a solution that more than satisfies both you and your client. Remember, Brightegg PL comes with a ton of advanced features, like smart forms for collecting data, blogs, podcast ready, insert flash and video, link to files, like PDFs and create secure, password protected log-on areas.
